Sept 24 Update on Walter. Walter moved into the pack tonight with a minimum of fuss and bother. The only trouble he ran into is that the puppies really wanted to play with him and their little nails are so sharp and they scratched his skin a little. But he really didnt seem to mind much. Walter had a nice time, sleeping on a rug, in the sun on the back deck. I think he really enjoyed himself and soaked up some good rays. The deck has a filtered arbor over it so the light wasnt direct and he didnt run the risk of sunburn. I wish I had taken a photo. Walter especially loved his time hanging out with Bryant and they really do look a lot alike. Walter is smaller and Bryant is still growing but the coloring will be pretty alike I think. Will know for sure when Walter gets some hair back! Hopefully it wont take too long to happen. I looked up on the internet about Walters splayed toes. One cause can be if he was raised on wire or similar surface. Also, it is common in the American Staff and American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) because there are too many back yard breeders that just dont care about their dogs. Not sure what Walter is yet, but we will see. Just had to throw in the photo of Faith. She snatched a chewie from somewhere and was just proud as punch to sit on the sofa and chew on it. She is getting much less shy.
