Serious topic of discussion people and I want everyone to weigh-in on it with their thoughts. Do you believe that the comic book medium faces a true crisis when it comes to attracting new readership? Im sure some of you remember my enthusiasm when I posted inside the group about my purchasing of 3 collected trade editions of DC Showcase Presents featuring Superman, Batman, and Green Lantern for the classroom I work in? The Silver Age of Comic Books period of DC was perhaps a good start to expose young readers because its still fairly relatable to todays contemporary times plus not so difficult a story to grasp for teenagers who have autism. Nope. Sadly they were not interested, it appears that the electronic age has fully asserted its will among this group. Comic book reading appears to be a lost art form thats been beaten into submission by electronic devices for this up and coming generation. Well its not a complete financial loss for me, at least Im enjoying reading the collected trade paperback editions.
