Several people have made linkages between the bombing of a school - TopicsExpress

Several people have made linkages between the bombing of a school in Bajur Agency on October 30th, 2006 and the attack on APS Peshawar last week. That day, 69 children of Pakistan were killed. The idea being that Bajur was the cause, and Peshawar was the effect. If we had somehow stood up then, the massacre in Peshawar would not have happened. This is nonsense. This is the kind of Taliban apology I will not accept. Not because I am full of anger, sadness, and hate after Peshawar. But because I have a cool brain that is repulsed by illogical connections. Khalifa Omar Mansoor. Remember that name. That is the name of the organizer of the Peshawar attack. He was named as the commander in the call that came to claim responsibility by the TTP. He has appeared in a video released by the TTP, claiming that this was revenge for the operation in North Waziristan. He claimed that attacks on civilians would continue. Khalifa Omar Mansoor did not have any children in the school in Bajur. He has never claimed that he is taking revenge for that incident. In all the Taliban attacks since 2006, the TTP has never claimed to be avenging the 2006 bombing. That is because they are not motivated by revenge. They are motivated by something else. Bajur is not even in North Waziristan. According to Google Maps, it is over 443 KM away. Thats over 7 hours by road (without traffic). This militancy we are fighting is NOT made up of sad and angry parents. This is not the rising up of former office workers who were changed by the death of a loved one. These are warriors serving war lords, who want to rule their corner of the world by gun, as they will, without interference by any state. They hide behind guns and a claimed love of Islam. They dont know the first thing about Islam, but that doesnt matter, as it serves their propaganda purposes. Would any of you seriously consider them to be superior in Islamic understanding to your average low-grade mullah? The attack on Peshawar happened for the exact reasons they claimed they did it. It was revenge for the current operation in North Waziristan. We moved into territory they had treated as separate from Pakistan. They hit back. There was no intention to spread Islamic rule, no intention to avenge Bajur, and no, absolutely NO moral equivalency between Bajur and Peshawar. The head master of the school in Bajur was a known militant. The children were being trained as fighters. Their parents could not have been unaware of what was going on. They were killed by a US drone. Not a Pakistani drone, not a Pakistani F-16, not any Pakistani soldier. Khalifa Omar Mansoor, if he knows anything about Bajur, knows all this. There can be NO moral equivalency between the children who were killed at a terrorist training camp by the US, and the children in Peshawar. This was not revenge for Bajur. Please stop making that comparison. Bajur had just as much similarity with Peshawar as the killing at Sandy Hook Elementary school in Connecticut in 2012. Many innocent children died. And thats where the similarity end. Faisal Ahmed Yasin, Sabqat Mansoor
