Severe Thunderstorm warning issued. The Bureau of Meteorology have issued a severe thunderstorm warning. Some of the following areas may be affected, New Norfolk, Hobart, Huonville, Richmond, Oatlands and Orford. BOM advise that the severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones over the next several hours. This is what happened outside our offices the last time the warning was issued. State Emergency Services can be contacted on 132 500 for assistance during storms and floods. Their advice is to: * Move your car under cover or away from trees. * Secure loose outdoor items. * Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees. * Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm. * Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
