Shabbat Shalom Light candles at 6:15 p.m.; Shabbat ends at 7:38 p.m. Sermon: The Wow Effect (and the morning after) Dear Oxfordians This has been a very long week for many… in particular scholars who have gone back to their desks (and even longer for their teachers) and everyone else who started work again. Predictably, as happens every year, the annual back-to-school heat wave! At least here in Johannesburg it means mid-thirties, unlike Melbourne where temperatures have reached well over 40° this week. Next Shabbat, PG, we celebrate along with our congregants born in January. So if this is your birthday month, please make sure to be at Shul on Shabbat morning and, men, make sure to come in good time so we can give an Aliyah. Please let me know early in the week if you want to join your fellow birthday celebrants in sponsoring the special brocha in your honour. Have a wonderful Shabbat at Oxford. Rabbi Yossi Chaikin
