Sharing from our friends at Marin Sun Farms: Last week Bloomberg - TopicsExpress

Sharing from our friends at Marin Sun Farms: Last week Bloomberg TV featured NY Butcher / Meat purveyor Pat LaFrieda. During the interview, LaFrieda spoke about beef and his negative feelings about grass-fed beef, wrongly stating the carbon footprint is much larger for grass fed meat production. LaFrieda fails to discuss the carbon footprint of corn production. He also misses the fact that well grazed beef foster more carbon sequestration in the soil, via the pasture, which is more beneficial than the amount of methane they let off. Animals are not the problem. People’s decisions are the problem. Human resource management is what is flawed. After watching showman Pat LaFrieda, please check out Allan Savory’s enlightening TED talk. You’ll quickly see why grass fed beef is the correct choice. ted/talks/allan_savory_how_to_green_the_world_s_deserts_and_reverse_climate_change.html Google’s Sergey Brin thinks technology can save us by producing protein in labs. theguardian/science/video/2013/aug/05/google-burger-sergey-brin-lab-grown-hamburger What’s next? Will we soon see an app available for download allowing us to keep the soil healthy via smartphone? Such disconnect… we need more animals on the land and properly managed! What do you think?
