Should Scotland be an independent country? Of course it - TopicsExpress

Should Scotland be an independent country? Of course it should! The nonsense about companies leaving, prices rising and general armageddon are laughable. Most of the predictions I hear are based on comparisons assuming Scotland will follow the failed Westminster policies of the past decades. Im voting for something different. I am voting YES because I believe we can - and should - do things differently for the benefit of the people of Scotland. Next Friday, Scots and Scotland will have the same wealth they had on Thursday give or take the usual daily market fluctuations (and perhaps short-term reaction to the referendum result). When we vote YES - as I believe we will and should - there will be a period of negotiation and everything will fall into line. We may not get everything we would like, or we may get more. So the Westminster establishment - the elite with its track record of hiding facts, burying reports, fiddling expenses, propping up an unelected House of Lords as well as some other very unsavoury traits still to be revealed - can throw what it likes at us. The scare stories become more ridiculous by the day but Ill still have the courage to vote YES because in the referendum on Thursday we are not being asked to vote for a party or an individual. We are simply being asked if we want to be an independent country which would give us the right to make our own decisions and vote for whichever government we would like in 2016. Be under no illusion. We will not get that precious right with any of the current offers of additional powers from Westminster We can afford to be independent. Nobody denies that any more. We have a parliament already established so theres no need to put the mechanisms of governance in place. Having the ability to make all the decisions that affect our own country is a completely normal situation for any country and none of the 140+ countries that have become independent since 1945 wants to go back to their former state. Not one of them operates without a currency that works for them. Vote for normalisation. Vote YES!
