Since last few days Goa was witnessing a different kind of music! - TopicsExpress

Since last few days Goa was witnessing a different kind of music! The type of music it is not used to! As against the typical goan and western party music, the city was echoing with Namo Mantra. And the sound and power of the music was so strong that it had an impact throughout the country ( particularly in the National Capital) and beyond the borders as well!! As against the background of this chanting, an ‘illness’ was also being discussed. A 86 year old stalwart of the party was away from one of the most hyped and discussed party event (which seemed unusual on his part, looking at his past records of attendance in any of the party events- the party he has built over years). Probably he was at his all time low, probably not! But whatever the case was, the ‘stalwart’ and the ‘iron man’ found ‘illness’ the best way to accept and adapt to the fact that in his present frame of mind, body and soul, he is a ‘misfit’ for the political party he had nourished over years!! Even his ‘trusted lieutenants went with the tide. He is not tired but retirement is being proposed and thrust. If it is time for farewell, he deserves a better farewell! Yes he was unable to complete the 100th century but lack of the last one in no way negates the importance of the 99 he has scored. I have not been a political supporter of Mr Advani. Even in his peak days, Atal ji was a greater attraction for me. But in retrospect, I believe, that with Mr Advani no longer in helm of affairs in the Indian Political Circles, we are witnessing end of an era in our democracy. But last words are not yet written, and Indian politics is as un-predictable as politics should ideally be, so who knows!
