Small revelation for Daphy today. She tore a ligament in her shoulder and the doctor wanted X-rays. When we fronted up to the doctor with the results today, she said, Theres a lot of arthritis where shes had that broken shoulder ... Shes never had a broken shoulder, I said. Oh yes, she has! Said the doctor. And not just broken - smashed. You can see the breaks here and here and here. Theyre old, though. All my life Daph has boasted shes never had a broken bone. And then I said, She had a bad fall off a high balcony when she was 10 and knocked herself out. [She was at a birthday party and sat on a railing at the top of the stairs and toppled off backwards]. Do you think she might have broken her shoulder then and her parents just put it down to aches and pains from the fall? People didnt rush kids off to the doctor unless they were at deaths door in the 1930s. Thatd be it! The doctor said. So, 80 years after the injury we get a diagnosis ! Record?
