So I thought I was really on to something for tomorrow night: I decided to cook the entire 12 pound bird in the crock pot. It was necessary to wash up a 20 oz hammer to use to crack the breast bone so the bird would fit under the cover. One onion was cut into chunks and tucked along the sides and in the body cavity. Someone brought some stir-fry sauce to the JAM last week and it was poured over the top of the bird. Salt and cajun spice were sprinkled liberally over everything and for liquid I added some white wine. Anyway, I thought I was onto something and I googled turkey in a crock pot and dozens of recipes popped up. We shall see how this one turns out. .
