So about 5 years ago, an 11 year old boy-Altaaf- was shot while his neighbour was getting hijacked, while he was minding his own business in his yard.He got shot in the head, as a result he is paralyzed, and has no use of his arms and legs, his life is ruined...for the last 5 years his dad had to carry him up and down the stairs in their home when he had to leave the house...due to that being a schlep he couldnt attend school, not even open air school (durban school for disabled people) ..during the last year his dad fell really sick and was not able to carry him up and down the stairs...he is now practically bedridden because there is no one else to assist.. due to financial contrains the family has been unable to obtain fancy equipment or additional help to assist with Altaaf, after witnessing his plight and the conditions under which he has to live in my parents and their friends have decided to help him out by building a room and bathroom downstairs so that his family will be able to assist him in getting out of the house and attending school, they have also obtained funds to provide him with special swimming coaching(at Pisces swimming school in overport) that will ,hopefully, enable him to use his hands and legs again...the building however is going to need more funds, costs of engineers and a building team is quite expensive, Mufti Ebrahim Desai has confirmed that zakaat money can be used for the building due to the financial position of the family, if you would like to contribute plz contact me..if you would like to verify the story,a visit to Altaaf can be arranged...any contribution is welcome!
