So, after a couple of rants aimed towards the anti-ice bucket - TopicsExpress

So, after a couple of rants aimed towards the anti-ice bucket crowd, I feel the need to clarify somewhat..I do recognize that clean water is one of the greatest challenges facing the world as a whole, and shouldnt be ignored.. my issue stemmed from the fact that people were being criticized and belittled for trying to affect change. Maybe the ALS campaign itself and the funds generated are misdirected, but the bigger picture here isnt that, its that people as a whole were getting involved and becoming aware about an issue and rallying around it for change..that is never a bad thing. Having said that, I think if it opens our eyes to the bigger problem regarding safe clean water then so much the better, Im all for getting behind that cause and trying to help those less fortunate access one of lifes basic needs- I will post a couple of links regarding an organization that seems to be making real progress in this area and I encourage everyone to take a few minutes to look at what they have accomplished so far with a couple of cheap innovative tools such as the LifeStraw and The Drinkable Book, and I challenge anyone, especially those who were pro water/anti-ice to donate whatever they can to this extremely worthwhile endeavor or at least share these links and help raise awareness, lets make this our next rally point. Thanks for looking, enjoy your day :) p.s. yes the book is made of paper..Ill address the save the trees folk next ;) waterislife/
