So, an odd experience early this morning. I think some guy was trying to hit on me. You be the judge. I was standing waiting for the bus and watching a fella plow the Drug Mart parking lot. All of a sudden he veered his truck out of the lot and pulled up beside me. He rolled down the window and spoke to me, Hey. he said. Waiting for the bus, huh? I nodded and said, Yup. It certainly looks that way. He leaned out the window. Yeah, I saw you here. Thought Id come over and say hi. I gave him a noncommittal okay. By now his head was out of the passenger side window. Sure is warm in this truck. he said. Can you feel how warm it is? I edged away a little. Well, thats good for you while youre working. Yes, it is. Sure is warm in here. I didnt answer this time. I just craned my neck, watching over his truck for the bus. He kept his eyes on me for an uncomfortable moment and then settled himself back into the drivers seat. Well, you have a great day, buddy. he said. He drove back to the parking lot and resumed his work. Im beginning to think my life has turned into a David Sedaris short story.
