So drought notwithstanding, people are arguing that the ALS icebucket challenge is useless and people should just donate. 1. Donations have gone up tremendously because many people are donating as well as making a video. 2. This is because of the viral nature of the challenge. If every person who received the challenge gave 100 dollars, the challenge would have stopped at 4 people. 3. If you are really worried about the ecological effects, do it in a pool or lake or river or ocean, but stop detracting from a good cause.
