So here is the deal. While some people get it, there are a hell of a lot of people who dont understand that being willing to speak out on some issues takes a certain amount of privilege. However, it is those who do not have much privilege who possess the most knowledge about what changes need to take place and how to go about increasing the safety and stability of our most vulnerable members of the community. So- we need the voice of those who barely have the ability to make it through the week to be heard now. But those people are being smeared, sabotaged and attacked by those youd consider opponents and more privileged people who think they `own social justice work and literally feel butthurt if you dont take your massively greater amount of skill and knowledge and stuff it to go take directions from them. I.e. the system and the non-profits. We are more threatening to those making a living off the backs of the pain and suffering theyre not really trying to address, just keep to a dull roar so as to protect the status quo from meaningful change (and keep the paychecks, fancy dinners and so forth), than we are to those more directly inflicting the pain and suffering. To enable those grassroots organizers who know what is going down because theyve survived it to agitate for change (and yes we do have to AGITATE because there is no interest in consulting or listening on the part of those who are in control of resources and policy) we need to redirect some resources DOWN TO THEM. CIRCLES OF MUTAL AID AND SUPPORT. I will soon be posting a crowd funding page for donations to help support individual activists and organizers who are doing great work, but dont have cars, computers or two dimes to rub together. I ask that instead of giving to the big greens, you donate, cash OR LABOR HOURS to them. I have been telling people its a MATH PROBLEM for 2 1/2 years and I know what I am talking about. If you want grassroots community organizing- SUPPORT IT.
