So late this coming Saturday afternoon I´m speaking at a salon on - TopicsExpress

So late this coming Saturday afternoon I´m speaking at a salon on whether the book is dead. I´m planning to concentrate on whether the printed book sustains or gives rise to a unique sort of cognitive life that other types of reading may not. I am thinking of new types of reading such as off of a screen, E-Reader etc, but I am especially interested in "reading" audio books. This might be for fun or for study, novels or something else. Has anyone else much experience of this and if so how to they think their audio-book reading is different from reading a standard paperback. NB - I have my own ideas and experiences of this but I´m trying to work out how idiosyncratic they are. So any views or experiences welcome. The event is here https://facebook/events/642141325819878/?ref=2 . BTW - I´m supposed to introduce this in 7 (!!!wtf!!!) minutes so if you´re in Lisbon and want to see me try, come along. There will be lots of time for discussion.
