So most hunter gatherers live with very little material things. But they do not feel poor, in fact often have the psychological experience of assumed affluence; the notion that there is plenty and that they have what they need in the environment. And many modern, industrial, post-agricultural people live with many material things but often feel poor, in fact often have the psychological experience of assumed scarcity; the notion that there is not enough and that survival is a zero-sum game. So trying to figure out for myself which psychological paradigm I choose to live in regardless of the material things/wealth in my life. Because assumed scarcity is a cortisol producing, nerve shattering, relationship fragmenting cluster f*ck.
