So much talk about the STAAR Test going on today. I dont have a kid taking it (although I do have a granddaughter who is), so I dont really have a stake in it. But after reading a post on a friends facebook page, I had this thought: I think that if this test was treated as just another test parents wouldnt have such a problem with it. I think the problem they have is the way they hype this test up, and as one friend put it scare the crap out of the kids before the test day. The anxiety is NOT coming from having to take the test, the anxiety is thrust upon them by the teachers whos jobs are on the line if their students dont excel. OK, THAT, my friends, is my LAST comment to be made on that subject!
