So on the 16th of January I was informed that Shawn Mcdonald was in an accident at work he was air lifted to UMC hospital when I got to Lubbock to the hospital I was able to see him after a long wait of three hours to find out that he was fighting for his life he was in icu in the burn unit he had 40 percent third and some second degree burns on his upper body (his arms chest face and part of his back) he was in icu for almost two weeks where he had four skin graph surgeries then he was put in to another room where he started to move around and doing some physical therapy on the 16th of February he was moved to trust point hospital to start his real physical therapy he was told that he was gonna be here for 10-16weeks but he had his goal set for 4-5 weeks we get to go home tomorrow he beat his goal by 2 days . Thanks to God and Abel Martinez who helped Shawn and everyones prayers and his stubbornness he has gotten through all of this so I just want to say Thank you to our kids Robert Shastid Dakota Shastid Chrissy Boo Brittany Shastid damian for pulling together for us Brittany Dye for the calls and prayers from everyone up there and my sister Regina Vigil and Jarrod Vigil and Fredrica Vasquez-Flores and all the family for helping with the kids but most of all I want to thank you Shawn for not giving up and for fighting to keep our family together I love you all
