So sitting at Wendys tonight grabbing dinner, around 730, and there is a guy, about 70?, USS _____ veteran hat on the table, eating by himself, looking pretty lonely and kinda bummed. After we finished, I went over, asked him if he was a navy vet (already knew the answer), he looked confused and replied, yes. I shook his hand and said thank you for your service sir. After he figured out what was going on, he got a huge smile on his face. I dont know his backstory, but Id like to think maybe that tiny gesture made his night a little bit better, and that he might be alone, but hes still appreciated. You never know what might a difference to someone.
