So the other day I was asked why I love volleyball and this is what I have come up with.... the fall brisk air, the smell of the weight room when it is 100 degrees, the sound of a good solid contact, the look on your opponents face when you block a for sure kill, that dig that the other team thought was going to be a point, a nice float serve, the set that looks like heaven and a point proceeds, the only sport where you celebrate after each point as a team, spandex, the sound of grunting while holding your planks, or doing your squats, the moment when your coach jumps out of her chair screaming ;), popcorn!!!, the sound of how your shoes squeak while you are jumping lines, that moment when you get your goal in bags, that moment when you realize you can jump higher and hit the 10 ft line with the ball, that quick set when you know the block has tried to block your setter, piggybacks, knee pads, army mens, when you lick your lips and their salty, that pass going into the bleachers that no one thought you were getting, game changers, the moment you wake up and realize you have abs, you screaming yeah, yeah, yeah, sprawls, pancakes, freeball followed by pass, set, kill, when you leave practice knowing you have done something, not just for you but for your team! THe world you desire can be won, it EXISTS, it is REAL, it is possible, and IT IS YOURS!!!
