So theres this hot pot place in Marina Square where some patrons found a RAT in the vegetable soup. Restaurant closed. NEA investigating. ST has a picture but the restaurant supervisor denies it saying that it isnt a carcass but vegetables that, errrm, looked like something else. I guess thats one response a restaurant staffer might give....Here are some other responses depending on waiter-type.... Waiter, theres a rat in my soup! a. Excited: Wow! Is it doing the backstroke? b. Smart aleck: No sir, its not a rat. Its a mouse. c. Idiot: Oh dear...its not cooked properly is it? d. Informed: Hmmm....It must have escaped from Bukit Batok. e. Public spirited: Dont worry sir. I will call the pest controller now. f. Grumpy: And you want another bowl for it, is it? g. PR-minded: Congratulations! Youve discovered our chefs secret ingredient! h. Panic-stricken: Sorry, sorry...the soup is for the other table. i. Animal lover: Quick! Save it! Enjoy Saturday! Stay away from soup.
