So, this is a long post but we had so much happen last night that we want his fans to see it all. A roller coaster of emotions tonight at the track for Team CBR. Throughout the week we discussed the fears and emotions that go along with an individual sport like racing. We worked with McKenna Haase and Team Haase Racing on how to confront the fears he has of crashing and how we can continue to support him throughout this process. McKenna was absolutely GREAT! She suggested we start developing nightly goals to work on. The photos below show the goals he had last night; he was able to achieve them both in heat race #1. One of our biggest hurdles is teaching him that racing is not a team sport. Carter tries really hard to be a polite kid because his Mother and Father taught him that was what they expected of him. Somehow, we have to figure out how to separate the Carter at home and the Carter at the track. By all means, give us some suggestions if you have any. Carter got a good draw last night and started heat race #1 in the P1 position. He drove that heat race probably the best he has all year. Carter finished P1 and won his first heat race of the season last night! For heat race #2, the line-up is inverted so Carter must make a charge from the back of the pack. Carter started P5 and got a decent start moving up to P4. He gave it all he had and kept the hammer down but just couldnt get enough momentum to go around the others. Carter finished P4 in heat race #2. The R-box Feature brought about a start on the outside, front row P2 position. Carter got a great start and led the first two laps before P5 spun causing the field to be re-racked. Carter got off to a poor restart which dropped him to P2. A lap and a half later, P3 got inside of him on turn 1 which spooked him causing him to let off the gas and float high. This move caused him to drop to P4. He was able to gain his composure and try to race back in but the car setup limited him as his motor had peaked and couldnt get the top end speed to chase them down. Carter finished P4 but gave it all he had and we couldnt have asked for a better effort. Thanks for all of the support and we hope to see you all soon!--CBR
