So today I walked out of NPTU for the last time. Ive spent 7 out of the last 91/2 years working there in some capacity. I can honestly say I wont return there as an instructor again. Its been rewarding and trying (probably more of the later...) and some of that was on me. Some of it was on the system that weve enabled. Im very excited to start on my last tour and everything that comes with that. I hope that Ive helped some of the people thats worked for me or with me over the years here in Charleston in some positive way. I know many of you have helped me along the way. Special shout out to a couple of civilians who we dont give enough credit: James Brooks, Eli Budelman, Matt McGuire, Jon Fronczak, Chris Trahan, Adam Fries, to name a few. A few of the SEs/LTs that made my tours possible: Jon Hall, Derek Anastasiades, Joshua Ludwig, Leon Platt to name a few... My fellow enlisted folks, there is far too many of you to name, keep up the great work. Remember, this job may not always give you the satisfaction you would like, or the liberty you deserve and have earned for a shore duty, but in the long run, its one of the most important jobs in the military. For those of you that are still at NPTU, be it Navy or Civ-Div, I hope you keep your head held high as I can honestly say there are important people there working to make it a better place. Later!!! Edit: I meant to say something else so here it goes... Dont forget the Forgotten 40 (and if you dont know who Im talking about, dont worry about it...). What theyve been through (and in some cases are still enduring) will make it a better program. They are all AMAZING people and wouldnt hesitate to recommend them for any position.
