So today they decided to try a new medicine called dobutamine. All of the sedation & other meds hes been on have depressed his heart. But he needs those because of his lungs. This medication is supposed to increase heart function & help it get stronger. The side effects are it can make his heart rate go up since its helping his heart & make his oxygen sats go down. Theyll leave his on for 3 days & hopefully it helps. His past echos have been in the normal range, but either on the higher side or lower side & its not good that it keeps changing. After this, theyve pretty much exhausted everything they can do for him here. They dont want to do the heart catheter because its too risky & nothing would really change with his meds. Some good news is he was on nava! Theyre trying not to give him the paralyzer as often & hes going about an hour to a hour and a half without it. He was on nava for a half hour & he didnt do that good but at least he did it! The doctors will consult with CHOP in the next couple days. Thank you for always praying for him 🙏💙
