So today turned out better than anticipated, the morning started - TopicsExpress

So today turned out better than anticipated, the morning started out rough as the girl who got Jim up this morning was rough and set off all sorts of pain, I didnt get him up this morning and ready as you have to have orders to come in early and I already have one for 7 am, but with his big day of the outing they started therapy earlier than usual and of course I wasnt there to protect him, needless to say after his first therapy, I spoke with the nursing manager as his first twenty minutes of therapy was a complete waste trying to come off the pain again. I usually start the day there at 7 and get him dressed and up eating breakfast, therapies usually begin at 8 am and he usually has about 4-5 hours a day. I am sorry if when I message anyone back if I am short, or seem short its just a really full day.. my apologies, between doctors everyday, therapist, and then the extra therapies we do on our own it becomes quite a full day.. The trip to the doctor, well as many of you saw he had 354, when we finally sat down it was two after a full half hour of registration. After being there for 11 days previously I would not think we would of needed such a lengthy registration, then the waiting began, it was almost three when we got to what Jim and I called stage two of xrays, this was another half hour wait, now mind you his doctors appointment in the same building was for three, needless to say we didnt get there until four, then more papers to fill out.. I counted nineteen pages of questions, on the last six pages I put a great big X thru thee entire page, these were questions that had no application to Jim whatsoever, Like do you feel your pain is keeping you from work, or do see yourself socializing less because of the injury, seriously.. so I had lost my patience on the last pages..and to think they were going to send me over there today without any of Jims pain medications.. I was not getting stuck with Jim for five hours with no pain medications..no way, I could see where that was going, well after I told the nurses they could either A. Give me the medication to give him at the proper time, or B. Come on over and find him and give it to him at two.. well they decided to give me the pills..it would of been more than eight hours since his last pain pill during the day by the time we got back.. ha they werent tricking me and then have me push him back three blocks on a bumpy sidewalk..Jim would of been bawling by the time we made it back, or worse yet in so much pain he would of missed out on his appointment. We finally saw the doctor at 4:45, Jim and I almost started to believe it was closed and we would soon be locked in a room with no way out over night the lights were off everywhere..The doctor came in and said Jims x-rays looked good the hardware was in place, he said that his spine was aligned and he could see that everything checked out for now. He also assured us that what we had done was probably the best option for the situation, He also checked Jims reflexes and when he was done he said well thats good no hyper activity, which I guess happens in spinal cord injuries because the brain cant intercept the signal alot of these reflexes become super hyper, Jims were not.. a good sign.. he asked Jim what he felt if anything at all, Jim told him he feels like he can feel at different times his feet are asleep, especially after any kind of activity with them, this too he told Jim is good, as he said that could very well be a true feeling, he told us just like everyone else, time will tell, but he really seemed to be the most positive doctor we had run into thru all of this..he told us about some of the studies that were going on at the hospital and throughout the world, nothing to promising yet, but told Jim that its way too soon for him to think of any of those options as his spine is just now in the early stages of healing..so prayer warriors keep praying, thank you all for everything.. Especially the continued prayers over and over.. I truly appreciate it, and I know they are working keep up the good work!
