So when I was little I lived here and my grandparents were in Ohio. Letters, yes actual mail, were how my grandma would send me thoughtful thoughts and gifts, and because of that correspondence I am grateful. I got to know my grandma through her writings, and I still can visualize her writing as I excitedly opened letters and small packages with 2 x 2 carpet squares she had sent me for my doll house. I still have the loving memories and I cherish the knowledge of knowing that I was loved profoundly by her. Since her passing when I was 9, I can still feel her present in the right top corner of my heart. :) I hope this insight helps people who live away from their families.
