Some LCSD1 classes will be videotaped in study By Aerin Curtis acurtis@wyomingnews CHEYENNE -- Several classes in Laramie County School District 1 will be videotaped this spring to help conclude a two-year study. English language arts and math classes in the fourth- through eighth-grade classrooms in selected schools will have one lesson videotaped as part of a nationwide project, according to information given at Tuesday’s presentation. “We want everyone to know the purpose of the data collection and what we intend to do with the recordings and what we don’t intend to do with the recordings,” said Data Collection Task Leader David Manzeske. “We intend to code the videos for purposes of estimated impact on teacher performance, and for instance, what we’re not planning on doing with the videos is sharing them with district central office staff persons or using them for district evaluative purposes.” For more of this story, and to comment on it, click here: wyomingnews/articles/2014/01/22/news/20local_01-22-14.txt
