Sailing past its $50,000 goal to reach $120,000, the Vo-96 caught the attention not only of intrepid guitarists, but also top music magazines and blogs (Create Digital Music, Synthtopia, Guitar Player, SonicState); major consumer electronics journals (Gizmodo, Engadget, Gizmag); and national and international press (Huffington Post, Der Spiegel). Additional post-Kickstarter sales created an even larger pool of musical explorers charting the new sounds and techniques made possible. This critical mass of talent and technology attracted like-minded innovators. One such innovator has joined forces with inventor Paul Vo to form a new company dedicated to putting the fruits of Paul’s technologies into the hands of even more musicians. Michael Koehler joins `Vo, LLC as CEO, and brings with him 27 years of experience in the music industry. His background ranges from composition, audio engineering, music production, sound design and musical product development to management and licensing of intellectual property, ranging from thousands of units sold to millions of units sold. He has also worked with multi-platinum artists in the music industry. Going forward I will concentrate on turning new inventions into products. Michael is enjoying pulling everything together and Im already designing our next product! Michael currently runs Murasaki Productions, Inc., an independent record label and music production company. As a musician, he releases several albums per year under various pseudonyms spanning multiple genres and his relationship with Paul Vo’s technology was strengthened by a growing connection to the creative climate of Asheville, NC. “It all started a few years back”, said Michael. “In my music I had always been inspired by Bob Moog through the great tools he made for musicians. After his passing, I became interested in his love for Asheville through the work of the Bob Moog Foundation. I also became friends with several people in the Asheville scene. I met Paul through `Vo, LLC Marketing Director Chris Stack, a mutual acquaintance.” He continues, “Paul’s work really interested me as I have been experimenting with alternate tools for creating music. I already owned the previous two generations of his technology: the Moog Guitar and Moog Lap Steel. I purchased a Vo-96 and it really took things to the next level. As I got to know Paul better, I learned that he was looking for a business partner. What impressed me at first was how creative and inventive he is. I could tell that is a guy that has been doing this for a long time and has a lot to offer.” Vo Inventions, Paul’s original company, will continue to independently service and support the Vo-96.
