Some of the biggest names in world cricket will be coming to Selsey on June 8th, when the Lashings All-Stars roll into Paddock Lane. Courtney Walsh, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Devon Malcolm and Mohammad Yousaf (spelling confirmed with the player himself) are part of an all-star squad who will be taking on Selsey in a 30-over match. Lashings chairman David Folb said,Well be sending a top side to Selsey. We know their former player, Sir Patrick Moore, used to spend a lot of his time staring at stars in the night sky, but you wont need a telescope to see stars in Selsey on June 8th. Ashes hero Matthew Hoggard is a recent addition to the Lashings squad and recently retired spinner Graeme Swann has promised to play at least one game for the All-Stars in 2014, although the precise date hasnt been confirmed. What we can promise is that youll see a team packed with legends,Folb said. Its a chance for cricket fans in Selsey to see their heroes in the flesh. Lashings originally formed as a pub team in Maidstone in 1984 and they were bowled out for 29 in their first ever game, but they improved rapidly and, after signing Richie Richardson in 1996, the club grew into the international All-Star XI that tours today.
