Someone just asked for updates on EVERYONE (not just Kenzie, Val and Miguel :/ So here you go!!!!!!!!!!!!! Update Oso - (back leg swimmer pup) went back home to where he came from. He is completely rehabilitated. Mickey – (french bulldog with cleft palate) is doing well. He had his cleft palate surgery three weeks ago and will be going to his forever home once Cornell says it’s okay. Chester – (Maltese with cleft palate) His surgery broke down and he needs further repair in a few weeks. Chester is a very delicate case. Maeva – (Cleft palate Boxer) is almost 4 weeks and doing much better. I had concerns about her but she is growing and catching up physically and mentally for her age. Musafa – (Cleft lip ABD) is doing fantastic. He is a chubby, happy Moose!! He won’t require any surgery and will be available for adoption at 8 wks. once vaccinated. Malaysia – (cleft lip/palate Olde English Bulldog) is 8 days old now and doing well. She tolerates her feedings well and gaining weight. Ozzy – (cleft palate Chihuahua) is eating on his own now. He will go to Cornell soon. We are working on getting him a bit bigger though. He is 8 wks and weighs 1 pound. Marion – (rehabbed Chihuahua) is also 8 wks. and is ready for adoption. Itty Bitty – (Pom/Yorkie Mix with deformed legs) is doing GREAT. Itty Bitty actually has use of her back legs now. I will be getting her in to see the orthopedic doctors to see about possible surgery on her elbow dysplasia. Marlin and Malone – (Husky mixes with neurological issues) just arrived today and will be evaluated over the next few days. They were infested with flea’s but as of yet, I’ve seen no issues with them. Mowgli – (newborn Boxer Pup) just arrived about an hour ago. I was very pleased to see that he only has a cleft lip…his palate is fine!! He is a BIG BOY and weighed in at 15 ounces at just hours old. Jiminy – (Chihuahua from Korea) is doing great. I think we finally have the skin allergies under control. Jiminy has a grade 4 luxating patella on both rear legs but gets around great. He will soon be available for adoption. Mugsy – (Boston Terrier with rear leg paralysis) is doing well in his foster home. He is however still chewing his one foot so we are working with Panda Paws on having their vets amputate Mugsy’s rear legs to help him maneuver around better. We just have to raise money for the trip, surgery and rehab. McKinley – (Shep/mix with rear leg paralysis) that was found in the garbage dumpster in Ohio is being adopted this Tuesday!!! Melony – (Shep/lab mix with deformed rib cage) is doing wonderfully in her foster home. She is also available for adoption. Mr. Dominic – (Min Pin with ME) has doubled in size since coming to the Foundation and will be going to his forever home the beginning of November. Aimee- (Chihuahua with Hydrocephalus) is good. She has shown no progression and shows no symptoms of Hydro. She is a shy girl but very sweet and is available for adoption. The two tiny Chi mixes born today in California with cleft lips/palates are with our foster and have had their first feedings and will be evaluated…updates to follow. Minnie – (Yorkie with cleft palate) is still in Florida and will be having her surgery there. She was seen by the oral surgeon and will go back in two months when she has gained a bit more weight. Marcus – (Chihuahua mix with cleft lip) is still being fostered in Florida but will be coming to NY in two weeks. He is doing great!! Munchkin – (Yorkie/Chinese crested mix) is being fostered in Tennessee and is also doing well. We were pleased to find out he only has a cleft lip…palate is fine. Taluah – (mix pup with cleft lip/palate) in Washington is also doing well. More updates to follow. Rosie – (JRT mix with swimmers) has been adopted and will be flying home with her new family to New Mexico!!!! And of course Valentino, MacKenzie and Miguel are ALL PERFECT AND WONDERFUL AND BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!!! :) :) :) :)
