Someone once said that the problem with Africa is Africans - TopicsExpress

Someone once said that the problem with Africa is Africans themselves, and a guest preacher at Redeemed Christian Fellowship provided a good illustration by saying take Africans from Africa and give them America as their permanent home and take Americans from the United States and give Africa as their permanent home and you will see the consequence(s). America will quickly become a land of destruction by those Africans who were provided the privilege and Africa will become very developed by Americans who were also given the same privilege. With this generalization, one can conclude that it is the people of the country that has the ultimate power to change their country and not the country herself and truly the problem with us (Africans) is ourselves because of our selfish, greed, and wicked mind set! The development of our individuals country in Africa has shifted from a collective effort, honesty, and love but it is deeply centered on whats in it for me? Sadly, people who are engaged or caught in corruptible acts are not dealt with according to the court of law but are given more opportunity to continue to fill their pockets at the expense of the poor; the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer!!! Because of jungle justice, people are sometimes afraid to express their dissatisfaction and will rather keep quiet than to exercise their freedom of expression or choose to be quiet because they know that their complaints will not be given any attention!!!! Another major issue with us is our expectation of the president or the leader to do everything without our contribution or involvement and therefore, the president is blamed for every wrong or everything even our own limitations or faults. We, Africans talk a lot and dont put words into action or positive use or we all have plans that never come to realization or fruition. My fellow Liberians, it is time for all of us including myself to put our resources together for the common good of our beloved mama Liberia and prepare a better future for the younger generation. As we say in Liberia, one finger cannot pick lice and will close with this powerful comment by one of the worlds renowned leader, John F. Kennedy: Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country. Have a happy week.
