Something wonderful It is working for your good! Why not answer the call? Mark 3:13–19 “Who me, Lord?” “Yes, you. I’m calling you.” “But what you’re asking of me is too difficult. I don’t have the skills or the training. I can’t possibly succeed at this!” Does this conversation sound familiar? Many of us know the experience of being asked to take on a task that seems much too demanding for us. We’re afraid of failure. We make excuses. But by doing so, we may miss the joy of being part of something wonderful. Many of God’s people identify and struggle with human emotions such as: fear (failure, rejection, exposure, and vulnerability), guilt, doubt, uncertainty, worry, anger and mistreatment/abuse (used: verbal, emotional, physical).As these are all valid human responses to life/circumstances, we as children/servants of the Most High God, we are not subject to them. They will appear (perceived or actual) and try to remain, but we have been given a way of escape even a place a refuge: Christ Jesus. As we explore these emotions and their effects, we will find spiritual guideline/processes that will turn our Mess into a message, our test into a testimony, our fears into courage, and our sorrows into joy. Let us take heart and look at the examples of our patriarch/matriarchs and learn from them. They will teach us what to and/or not to do to live in the Love of a Father that has our best at heart and has given us Grace that is well sufficient.
