Sometimes I feel near panic seeing my life spiral out of control. And then I remember: deliciously random is how I prefer it. Orderly steps are for other people. For me an orderly series of gates is not challenging enough to be interesting. It becomes clear that life is this hard, complex and challenging for me not because it is innately so, but because I demand it to be. It is nice that life is generous enough to give me the complexity I need to feel fulfilled.
