Sometimes I have been awed by the “dressed’ up people; amazed - TopicsExpress

Sometimes I have been awed by the “dressed’ up people; amazed by those educated at the finest institutions, impressed by those who have apparent wealth and by those who hold high positions. Yet, I have learned that not one Soul is better than anyone else. In fact, at night, before bed and when we wake up and rise, we are all the same – exactly and before our morning or even midnight showers, our commonalities are closer, one to another, than at any point as we stand naked, unclothed by our possessions. We all have skin beneath our attire; bones that support our intelligence, and blood that flows, perhaps the same paths in ours separate bodies, as we live our lives in wealth and we have created and enabled none of that. But mostly that of all that which makes us all one is the fact that, though we take different routes through life, we are headed to the same destination where most of what awes, amazes and impresses us will have no value, except in counting the time we have wasted in appreciating the temporary over the eternal. And so it befuddles me that we sometimes choose to focus on our differences rather than our commonalities and that is what keeps us from walking closer, understanding better and appreciating more the Majestic, Mighty God who created and enables us to see and understand that our common purpose is really just, through our lives and actions, to Lift Him Up. Today, as you rest on your ability to wear the finest and be the cutest, as you demonstrate your intelligence , even as your wealth allows you to spend without reason and you showcase the power your position, may you recognize that what makes us common is more precious than our opinions or appearance. As you learn to tolerate and appreciate with more loving compassion and gladness --all that makes us different; may you take just a moment to rejoice that God is Good and --- May you be greatly blessed. -k.
