Sooo... Its been a busy day. He did end up needing dialysis - thats being done right now. We have about 1 more hour to go. It sounds like this will be a daily thing for a few more days. Which is okay. Gotta get those kidneys healed. They did the bronch cam and were very pleased to get some stuff out. The pulmonalogist was happy about the condition of his lungs; regarding the injury. I guess this is something that I should have known, given his lungs were filled with fluid, but he has pneumonia. However, as Keith would say, theyre all over it like white on rice. Theyre watching his temp, his blood count, and hes on 2 antibiotics. Still not something I liked to hear. Even though thats been the case all along and I just didnt put that together. They may do the bronch cam again tomorrow or later this week to get more stuff out. We had a lot of special visitors today. Its actually overwhelming, in a good way. First we got to meet Joe. He is the paddle boarder that pulled Jake out of the water. Hes an amazing man. Aside from the fact he saved my sons life, he is just an amazing person and a strong believer. Pastor Jeff Jones and his wife came by. He prayed a powerful prayer over Jake. We had lunch together at the hospital and talked through the events on the beach that day. While we were with them, a lieutenant from the Washoe County Sheriffs Office came by. He was on the scene and was able to help piece some things together for us. He too is a strong believer and just the nicest guy. We also got to meet the social worker who called me at the house Wednesday. She was so sweet and has also been praying for Jake and was so pleased to see his progress. Needless to say, Im emotionally spent right now. Ill share more tomorrow or as soon as I can map it all out. But I will tell you that it was a series of divinely orchestrated events and Joe was not the only one who worked to save Jakes life. Weve only scratched the surface of the number of people who were there like a relay race, in place and ready to do the their part. So now on to prayer requests: Please pray for his infection, for antibiotics to work quickly and to be kept under control. Kidneys--for creatinine levels to drop. Lungs--continue to heal. And please continue your prayers over his brain. I know God is in control and wants Jake to be able to communicate his story when this is over. Please pray for Keith and I and our family because while we know that, its still scary. Also, please say a prayer for my grandmother, my dads mom. She was hospitalized this morning with pneumonia. Her name is Nell and is precious to me. For Jim-- healing. He needs a miracle too. And pray for Terri, for comfort that only God can provide. And I have a new one for Jake, that Im trying so hard to not let get to me. The hospitalist stopped by on her way out. Shes off for the rest of the week. Fortunately it was right before Pastor Jones and his wife left so they were able to pray with us again. She said she was so happy about his progress. Then she said that from the abdomen scan yesterday, they noticed a cyst on his hip and said well need to get an MRI as soon as we get home. After all Jake is going through, that was a kick in the gut. And a moms imagination kicks in. So please pray for that to just NOT BE THERE AT ALL when we get that MRI and for peace about it until then. Sheesh... Thats a lot for one post. Its been a busy day!! Thanks so much! Your prayers and encouragement keep us going! ~ LaNay
