Spending night #2 at Cindy Rosss house (a triple crowner, renowned author, and loving friend)...She has been kind enough to give me a good meal and warm place to put my head last night and tonight. Not to mention a Happy Veterans Day Cake accompanied by a song. I also got to meet Warren Doyle last night, the record holder for most completed hikes on the Appalachian Trail, which is 16 (hes working on #17 currently and we will be passing each other on the trail tomorrow). SO happy for Cindy and her new roll in Warrior Hike. She has decided to take on a more extensive and permanent roll as publicist for the organization. Her energy, knowledge, and love for the trail will only help take Warrior Hike to new heights as it expands into new territory. Her spirit is exactly what veterans transitioning out of combat need as they take on the task of thru-hiking one of the three major trails. I personally will begin planning my thru-hike on the Continental Divide Trail as a part of Warrior Hike in 2014. And my first order of business will be reading her book Scraping Heaven: A Familys Journey Along the Continental Divide while I lay in my tent at night on the trail in the next week or two. Her book on her Pacific Crest Trail hike called Journey on the Crest was just brought back into print!! Love you Cindy....thanks for all you do. PS is dinner ready yet, Im in the living room and Im hungry
