Spied – Production ready DC Avanti caught on test, again The DC Avanti continues to be spotted on tests, with these latest spy images coming from Maharashtra. Seen here is the production ready model which was unveiled at the Auto Expo earlier this year. Power for the Avanti comes from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine which is in fact a Ford EcoBoost unit. The engine in the Avanti is claimed to make 250 bhp and 360 Nm of torque, and will send power to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. DC claims their sportscar will do 0-100 km/h in 6 seconds, and hit a top-speed of 180 km/h. Other stats revealed by the company are the weight (1,580 kg) and ground clearance (170 mm) of the car. The first 25 units of the Avanti were announced to be priced at INR 25 lakhs, and subsequent cars will cost INR 30 lakhs. However, even the initial lot of cars haven’t been delivered to customers yet. The Avanti will be produced at DC’s Talegaon facility near Pune. The facility will be making about 100 units per month of the sportscar.
