Spiritual competition, harsh criticism and misplaced authority, is - TopicsExpress

Spiritual competition, harsh criticism and misplaced authority, is self-righteousness. The negative Ego can manifest as either arrogance or manipulative, power hungry behaviors or the other extreme, insecurity and lack of self worth. It is something we are all here to work on. When someone tries to define spirituality and judges someone as lacking it, based on their emotional reactions and Ego, they are actually asking that we reject a part of who we are. We are meant to embrace all that we are, even if certain aspects havent fully transformed. Spirituality is not about being perfect, enlightened or having all the answers - like some all knowing guru, it is about being devoted to the process of becoming whole and empowered, deep and authentic, willing to let the inner light shine and the divine qualities emerge, so that our emotions and Ego can find healing, purpose, balance and liberation. The more willing we are to be real about this process, the more we dont have to feel inadequate or above others, because we feel we hold a higher consciousness. Compassion for those who are doing deep healing is how we can remind one another that we are all spiritual beings, walking away from those who dont care to engage this process, is how we can protect ourselves - but acting like they are lacking and trying to be an authority over them, really only reveals a dysfunction in truly understanding what it means to be aligned to Spirit.
