Standardized tests dont measure the all important soft skills (persistence, initiative, integrity, creativity, courtesy, cooperation, responsibility...) essential for success in postsecondary programs, life & careers. So, what does constitute a good, rounded education. Academic excellence, sports and so forth, certianly. I dont think we place sufficient emphasis on the whole person generally speaking. A more holistic approach with a spiritual dimension might produce more rounded, self-aware and compassionate people. Our planet, our only home, needs that. We all need it.
