Stealing a moment of bandwidth while the science team (who pretty much use it all up) are at lunch. Were on the homeward leg of the cruise, about 130km west of the northern Washington coast, heading ssw to pick up a hydrophone before veering back out and completing the seismic sensor recoveries. I love it ALL, even when it means hanging on to railings & pipes & capstans with one hand while shooting with the other. Weve seen humpback whales slapping their tails, baby Northern fur seals playing leapfrog off the starboard side for hours, a ghostly cloud of V. vellella (aka By-the-wind Sailors) jellyfish glowing in the halogen lamps at midnight as the ship cut through them like a plow through a field of daisies. Yes, I have photos. ...so, so many photos. Now to see if this will actually send ...
