Still stuck on god? Then you are of those under the control of white supremacist christian theology. The English word God continues the Old English God (gu , gudis in Gothic, gud in modern Scandinavian, God in Dutch, and Gott in modern German), which is thought to derive from Proto-Germanic *gudán. The Proto-Germanic meaning of *gudán and its etymology is uncertain. It is generally agreed that it derives from a Proto-Indo-European neuter passive perfect participle *ghu-tó-m. This form within (late) Proto-Indo-European itself was possibly ambiguous, and thought to derive from a root *gheu?- to pour, libate (Sanskrit huta, see hot?), or from a root *ghau?- (*gheuh2-) to call, to invoke (Sanskrit huta). Sanskrit hutá = having been sacrificed, from the verb root hu = sacrifice, but a slight shift in translation gives the meaning one to whom sacrifices are made. Depending on which possibility is preferred, the pre-Christian meaning of the Germanic term may either have been (in the pouring case) libation or that which is libated upon, idol — or, as Watkins[1] opines in the light of Greek ??t? ?a?a poured earth meaning tumulus, the Germanic form may have referred in the first instance to the spirit immanent in a burial mound — or (in the invoke case) invocation, prayer (compare the meanings of Sanskrit brahman) or that which is invoked. The earliest uses of the word God in Germanic writing is often cited to be in the Gothic Bible or Wulfila Bible, which is the Christian Bible as translated by Wulfila (a.k.a. Bishop Ulfilas) into the Gothic language spoken by the Eastern Germanic, or Gothic Tribes. The oldest parts of the Gothic Bible, contained in the Codex Argenteus, is estimated to be from the fourth century. During the fourth century, the Goths were converted to Christianity, largely through the efforts of Bishop Ulfilas, who translated the Bible into the Gothic language in Nicopolis ad Istrum in todays northern Bulgaria. The words guda and gu were used for God in the Gothic Bible. (note:the foreign words did not translate, google god, wikipedia.) These teutonics did not know the Elohim of scripture (not the european translations) nor did they know His name. For great is YAHWEH and most worthy of praise; He is to be feared above all elohims. For all the elohims of the nations are idols, but YAHWEH made the heavens. Psa. 96:4-5 So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols: We know that an idol is nothing at all in the world and that there is no Elohim but one. For even if there are so-called elohims, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many elohims and many adonais), yet for us there is but one Elohim, the Father, from Whom all things came and for Whom we live; and there is but one Adonai, Yeshua HaMashiyach, through Whom all things came and through Whom we live. But not everyone knows this.1Corinth.8:4-7 He can only be known by revelation. All things have been committed to Me by My Father. No-one knows the Son except the Father, and no-one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him.Mt.11:27 WHOEVER HAS MY COMMANDS AND OBEYS THEM, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him AND SHOW MYSELF TO HIM. John 14:21 Elohim also said to Moshe, I Am YAHWEH. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Yacob as El-Shaddai, but by My name YAHWEH I did not make Myself known to them. Ex.6:2-3 If you are a seeker of The Truth, search the scripture to see whether these things are true or not. Lastly:(Im leaving in god to give clarity) Elijah went before the people and said, How long will you waver between two opinions? If YAHWEH is Elohim, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him. But the people said nothing. Then Elijah said to them, I am the only one of YAHWEHs prophets left, but Baal has four hundred and fifty prophets. Get two bulls for us. Let them choose one for themselves, and let them cut it into pieces and put it on the wood but not set fire to it. I will prepare the other bull and put it on the wood but not set fire to it. Then you call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of YAHWEH. The god who answers by fire--he is God. Then all the people said, What you say is good. Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, Choose one of the bulls and prepare it first, since there are so many of you. Call on the name of your god, but do not light the fire. So they took the bull given them and prepared it. Then they called on the name of Baal from morning till noon. O Baal, answer us! they shouted. But there was no response; no-one answered. And they danced around the altar they had made. At noon Elijah began to taunt them. Shout louder! he said. Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or travelling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened. So they shouted louder and slashed themselves with swords and spears, as was their custom, until their blood flowed. Midday passed, and they continued their frantic prophesying until the time for the evening sacrifice. But there was no response, no-one answered, no-one paid attention. Then Elijah said to all the people, Come here to me. They came to him, and he repaired the altar of YAHWEH, which was in ruins. Elijah took twelve stones, one for each of the tribes descended from Yacob, to whom the word of YAHWEH had come, saying, Your name shall be Israel. With the stones he built an altar in the name of YAHWEH, and he dug a trench round it large enough to hold two seahs {That is, probably about 26 pints (about 15 litres)} of seed. He arranged the wood, cut the bull into pieces and laid it on the wood. Then he said to them, Fill four large jars with water and pour it on the offering and on the wood. Do it again, he said, and they did it again. Do it a third time, he ordered, and they did it the third time. The water ran down around the altar and even filled the trench. At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: O YAHWEH, Elohim of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are Elohim in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. Answer me, O YAHWEH, answer me, so these people will know that you, O YAHWEH, are Elohim (not god), and that you are turning their hearts back again. Then the fire of YAHWEH fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench. When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried, YAHWEH--he is Elohim! YAHWEH--he is Elohim!
