Sunday Night Faith Tab: WE HAD A TIME WITH PASTORS JOEL & DORIS JEUNE from HAITI. We were pleasantly and tremendously blessed by their surprise visit! They first came to us on William Street, and for many years we supported their church and orphanage in Haiti. We have not seen them for over 30 years, and tonight our hearts were gloriously overflowing with joy to reconnect and catch up on all God has done and is doing through their ministry in Haiti. Pastor Joel shared his outstanding testimony of how he was raised from the dead at age 2. He also related the powerful victory that was waged over voodoo that had plagued their nation for 200 years. Haiti has been the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere for hundreds of years and was also the Voodoo Capital of the world. Over 200 years ago voodoo had been brought over from Africa and mixed with Catholicism. On August 13, 1791, in a ceremony in which a pig was sacrificed and its blood drank by the participants, Haiti was dedicated to the devil. Since then, whenever there has been a new ruler, they go back to the mountain of sacrifice and rededicate the island to the devil. Pastor Joel June with the Christians in his area prayed and fasted to break the demonic powers that held Haiti in darkness and poverty for so long. God told them that they had to go back to the place of sacrifice to break the power. Christians were not allowed to set foot in that place. It was reserved for voodoo priests and government officials. It was a daunting task, and many pastors feared public persecution. It was a huge undertaking both spiritually and logistically, but on August 13,1997, Pastor June and his supporters boarded buses for a seven-hour journey to the site. To their amazement, the voodoo priests had not shown up for the annual satanic rite when they would drink blood, eat glass and fire without being burned. The Christians prayed, sang, and reenacted a Jericho March. Pastor June declared to the devil: If you have the right to be here, prove it right now. I give you 5 min. to come with any deed or papers that give you the right to inhabit this property. Then they proceeded to cast out 151 demon spirits, naming and commanding them in the Name of Jesus to go and never return. They canceled the Satanic Pact in Jesus Name, declaring the curse over Haiti to be broken. They served communion under the voodoo tree where the blood of the pig was previously served. They held a three-day revival on the site and many were delivered from the dominion of voodoo. The following year they held an anniversary of this great victory. Persecution from government officials resulted in Pastor Jeune and others being arrested and put in jail for four days. The charges against them included trespassing on voodoo territory and stealing our ancestors spirits and refusing to bring them back. Pastor Joel told the officials: Jesus only taught us how to cast out evil spirits, but not how to bring them back! The officials said to each other: If we beat on them, they will say they are suffering like Peter and Paul in the Bible. If we try to kill them, they will be glad to say that they want to die like Jesus, and will be recognized by the nation as heroes and martyrs. Lets release them. The SPIRIT of God moved powerfully as Pastor Joel and Doris Jeune prayed for all those who came forward. WOW! What a Service!!!
