Sunday, November 16, 2014 The 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time. Gospel: Mt 25:14-30 The Parable of the Talents. To one he gave five talents; to another, two; to a third, one-to each according to his ability. Reflection: In this life, we are living on borrowed time and we are using borrowed talents. God is the owner of everything and we are the borrowers. We can claim nothing as our own. God generously lends his gifts to us, giving us the freedom to use them as we will. Created in his likeness, we are meant to use his gifts as he would. He even gives us the grace to act accordingly. While this is Gods will, we are not always generous or wise in how we manage Gods gifts. Sometimes we live as though we were in darkness. We follow our own will and hide or misuse our talents, keeping them for our own benefit rather than for the greater community. Amen.
