THE END OF BIG DAY OUT - WHAT A SAD MOMENT IN OZ MUSIC HISTORY smh.au/entertainment/music/australia-left-with-no-big-day-out-now-in-american-hands-20140625-zsll3.html The end of an institution. I have many great memories of BDO - particularly the earlier years in the 1990s and very early 2000s: Ramones, Smashing Pumpkins, Ministry, Screaming Trees, Nick Cave, Bjork, Sonic Youth, Cruel Sea, Primal Scream, Soundgarden (1994), Hoodoo Gurus, Silverchair, all played blinders. Later on Metallica, The Strokes, Peaches, Muse, and, would you believe, Black-eyed Peas, left indelible memories. It was also a rite of passage for every Australian teen. Now it seems no more.
