THE IMPORTANCE & ORIGIN OF MUSIC: This Is [Especially] For All GOSPEL artist: DEFINITION OF MUSIC: Music is the combination of sounds and silences, [its an art form whose medium is sound and silence]. Its common elements are pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics, and the qualities of its meaning. ORIGIN OF MUSIC: Music history is the distinct subfield of musicology and history which studies music. Music is found in every known culture, past and present, varying wildly between times and places. Since all people of the world, including the most isolated tribal groups, have a form of music, it may be concluded that music is likely to have been present in the ancestral population prior to the dispersal of humans around the world. Consequently music may have been in existence for at least 50,000 years and the first music may have been invented in Africa and then evolved to become a fundamental constituent of human life. A cultures music is influenced by all other aspects of that culture, including social and economic organization and experience, climate, and access to technology. THE IMPORTANCE OF MUSIC: Music is important to our lives because it lifts up the soul and releases some pressures in daily living. It also helps you express yourself in ways that you cant with [{normal speech and builds confidence}]. Music is also fun and enhances social development. Music is so important in our lives since this is one way of expressing sorrow, joy, pain, and gratitude. Music help people to excise patience, patience is very important in our lives since it enables us to appreciate people and different occurrences in life. Without patience, there would be a lot of chaos. CONCERN: I keep wondering why some GOSPEL ARTISTS especially in Africa particularly Zambians express their bitter feelings in songs about how they have been mistreated by their friends and relatives in the past. Gospel Music isnt a platform to express bitter feelings towards others; its a spiritual pulpit to comfort and remind people of peace, forgiveness, and the love of God. Gospel Music isnt for people who wants to disclose somebodys private terrible life; gospel music should be a prayer of love and peace; its another special mode of communication, in the same way one can kneel to pray to God so can he/she sing to thank and ask God for all intent and purposes. Those who sing with bitterness and misguided feelings do it but only to mislead people. Remember, Music is the platform for love, peace, and tranquility.
