The radical change incourse of LED lighting technologyis affecting the lighting industry and sales. As a result of lengthening the lifespan of LED lighting lamps, companies are starting to change their approach to equipment providers to service providers. More over,lighting companies have to be a ware of these broader changes and continue to offer new and innovative products and services to meet demand. Due to the much longer life of LED lamps, the US consulting firm Navigant Research expects total sales revenue of lamps may decrease over the next decade. To avoid this inevitable decline, companies are expanding their offerings by expanding lighting controls and lighting services. Like the tech giants (GE, Hewlett-Packard and IBM) than in decades past had to change hardware to software and services, lighting giants today are becoming solution providersfull lighting and not just the physical elements that emit light.
