THE PLURALIZED GOD OR THE PROLIFERATION OF gODS. I set Nigeria as my discourse universe. A region richly blessed but highly impoverished. An entity that can boast of farmyards yet dying of extreme starvation. The country whose socio-economical retardation caused by heartless-myopic, power-hungry crooks in form of a diarchy political system. The system where the men in uniform and the men without uniform have formed a political alliance. An alliance that has since robbed us not only of our dignity but also our sense of articulate reasoning. Our logical thought is ground-zero. HOPELESSNESS in the guise of it is well has engulfed her entire populace. That you work hard or are smart isnt a guarantee of success in your daily struggle in the jungle, Nigeria. Thus, the new mantra do it the smart way. A condition that has seen Nigerian abuse their greatest export-import: Religion. Yes, Religion. The financial woes caused by these GREAT MEN & WOMEN had made it imperative for their people to invent or rather ponder on how to survive. What means can savage the tears brewing and flowing uncontrollably at home? That is how it starts, then gradually as soon as the tears are wept out, perpetuacy of relief becomes number two on the agenda. Who wants to live a meagre life or in abject poverty when youve discovered the best possible way out. A path that you will very likely leave unscathed. Religion their succour has become their SUCCOUR. The proliferation of christian churches has become a venture more than an actual religious assembly in the past decade or more. Its fast becoming an escape route and ohuru. Poverty the remote and immediate cause for this development. The many infinitesimal problems metamorphose into unthinkable nightmares and anguish permeates this sphere as a result of lack of money to nick them in time. Everyone wants to be ...Oga at the top in Gods own home. Everyone is praying. Everyone needs answers. Which brings me to the question To which christian gods. Yes! gods!!! Is it to The god of O.P.M, The god of T.B. Joshua, The god of Kumuyi, The god of Jesus sharp-sharp, the god of gods? The rivalry by which the phenomenon has caused, leaves one in a state of utter disillusionment and desolation. Looking and pondering on St. Pauls first letter to the Corinthians chapter one, beginning from eleven to thirteen, then seventeen. I ask, my good people is God divided or do we now have gods in christendom?
