THE POWER OF MUSIC: I was driving along Crescent Heights Blvd today in Los Angeles and TLCs No Scrubs came on the radio...I am suddenly in a dark, freezing ballroom in some city (cant remember which but could have been NYC) and Im hearing that song for the first time. Its the first time most people have heard it and Clive Davis is playing it over and over again b/c the BMG Distribution crowd is LOVING it. After what seemed like 10x I look over at the table near me and I see a boy...just for one second...I didnt think anything of seeing him. I just saw the sign on the table that said Scrubs with a circle and slash through it and I laughed. Im there in that moment not knowing that boy would at some point become my guy and later my dear, dear friend. I live in NY, DEK is alive, and I am having too much fun and I and everyone else in the room are living a moment of privilege. 2 minutes 30 seconds later and Im crossing Wilshire Blvd and Im SO happy to have been back to those little moments I had forgotten...and happier and appreciative to be back to where I really am...except, of course for DEK. #musictransforms
