THE SON MANIFESTS THE GLORY OF GOD . “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right Hand of the Majesty on high; being made so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they” [[Hebrews 1:1-4]] …………………………….. HOW GOD SPEAKS • Before, it was through divers Prophets and through divers manners. • Now, it is through One Prophet (The Son), but through divers manners. . The manners through which the Son of God speaks to us are called: “Manifestations” or “Revelations.” He manifests Himself or Reveals His Father each time He speaks. So you don’t just get what He is saying with your ears, but also with your eyes. Jesus did not come just to reveal God’s commandments to us: Rather He came to reveal God to us. There is difference between revealing God’s commandments and revealing God. . When Jesus, the Son of God, spoke to the two disciples on their way to Emmaus, their hearts burned within them as they heard His words. However, they did not know Him because their eyes were not opened to know Him. He opened the scriptures to them, but their eyes were not opened until Jesus broke the bread before them and gave to, which was what opened their eyes to know Him. Immediately they knew Him, He vanished out of their sight. [(Luke 24:30-32)]. . Opening the Scriptures to them was not the same as opening their eyes to know Him: • Opening the scriptures to them, gave them understanding; But • Opening their eyes, gave them knowledge. Understanding is different from knowledge, when it has to do with Glory of God: A man can understand God without Knowing His glory. Understanding can come by hearing alone, but knowledge of God’s glory must come with having eyes opened to see. . When God wants to give the knowledge of His glory, He gives that knowledge on the face of Jesus Christ. As it is written, “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” [[2 Corinthians 4:6]] Let me add more verses: “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them who do not believe, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” [[2 Corinthians 4:3-6]] . There is blindness to the glory of God, not deafness. If the gospel is hid, it is hid to those who are lost: Not hid because they have not heard the words of the gospel, but hid because they have not seen the glory of the gospel. There is difference between hearing the words of the gospel and seeing the glory of the gospel. It is a glorious gospel, meaning the gospel has revelation of glory; but only those with open eyes or unveiled eyes can see the Glory and the Image of the gospel {{2 Corinthians 3:18}}. Thus, they are lost, not because they‘ve not heard, but because they‘ve not seen: for it is a glorious gospel. . You cannot perceive the glory by hearing alone, but by seeing or beholding. When He was only the Word of God to us, we were only hearing but not perceiving glory; But, when He became flesh to us, we saw His glory as the Only Begotten Son of God, full of grace and truth (John 1:14). It is possible to believe Him without seeing Him; for blessed are those who have not seen, yet believed (John 20:29). But it is not possible to know Him without seeing Him. And by seeing Him, is not with the eyes of the flesh, but with the eyes of the heart so that you can see Him as He is. The two on the way to Emmaus were seeing Him with the eyes of their flesh, and still did not know Him until their eyes were opened in the Spirit. Therefore it is written, “Henceforth we know no man after the flesh: yes, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth we know Him no more” [[2 Corinthians 5:16]] . They were on the way to “Emmaus;” “Emmanuel” was with them on their way to “Emmaus;” yet they did not recognize Him until they received Him into their house, and allowed Him to administer their food to them by His own Hands. That was when their eyes were opened and they knew Him. What He was feeding them through the ears was not enough to open their eyes until He fed them through their mouth after breaking the bread. ……………………. The One who speaks is not just communicating with His mouth, but also with His glory and brightness. If the One speaking is only speaking with Words, then there is no difference between Him and the Prophets of Old. But there is difference between Him and the Prophets of Old, because He is not just speaking words but manifesting God as He speaks. God wanted to send His Word, speak His mind, show His glory and reveal His Heart, which is the reason He chose His Son who is the Brightness of His Glory and the Express Image of His Person. None of the prophets of Old could reveal God in that capacity, except the Son who declares Him. As it is written, “No man has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared him” [[John 1:18]] The prophets of old could represent God, but could not reveal God . Before God wanted to use Moses as His Facebook to the People, and He allowed Moses to see God’s backside; but not to see God’s Face for that will take away Moses’ life. After Moses saw God’s back side, Moses’ face became like a profile picture of God to the people. However, instead of Moses to pass God’s message to the People like that, Moses put a veil over his face to hide that glory while communicating to the people just because the people were scared of him. That was a mistake on the part of Moses. He was more interested in getting the people to hear the message from God from his mouth than in getting the people to see the glory of God on his face. What God wrote on Moses’ Face would have being more important that what God wrote on Moses’ tablets of stones. Moses was more interested in showing them what God had written on the tablets of stones, than in showing them what God had written on his face. . Which is more important between hearing His message and seeing His glory? A picture is word a thousand words: Seeing His glory for a moment as He is, will do far more than hearing messages from a man of God many times over. Those people had always dodged from beholding God, and they prefer Moses to God: • When God appeared on Mount Sinai to them, they said they do not want to keep beholding that sight. Let God speak through Moses to them, instead of speaking directly to them. • When they did not see Moses for forty days, they changed their God and made new gods to themselves because they thought Moses was dead – to them, ‘no Moses no God.’ • When God placed His seal of glory on Moses’ face, they ran from Moses because they were scared of seeing the glory of God. Moses mistakenly covered his face with veils in order to gain members in his congregation to hear or listen to his messages. But when you turn to Christ, that veil is removed, for you to behold the glory of Christ as He is. As it is written, “Not as Moses, who put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not steadfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: But their minds were blinded: for until this day remains the same veil untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which veil is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” [[2 Corinthians 3:13-18]]
